The Battlefield Line consists of three stations at Shenton, Market Bosworth and Shackerstone the headquarters, being at the Northern end of the line situated midway between Ashby-de-la-Zouch and Hinckley in Leicestershire.

By Car . . .

Shackerstone Station (sat nav CV13 0BS)
It is signposted from both the A444 and A447 trunk roads. Follow the brown tourist signs from the B585 Market Bosworth Road, through the villages of Congerstone and Shackerstone to the free station car park where there is ample parking.

Market Bosworth Station (sat nav CV13 0PF)
Market Bosworth Station is on B585 road, which is midway between Ashby-de-la-Zouch and Hinckley in Leicestershire. The B585 is accessed from the A444 (M/A42 Jct 11 or A5 Redgate turn) and A447 (to A511 (either A42 Ashby or M1 Jct 22). The station is approximately 0.8 miles west of the village centre, and you will find a large free car park for use by our visitors.

Shenton Station (sat nav CV13 6DJ)
Shenton Station is situated midway between Ashby-de-la-Zouch and Hinckley in Leicestershire and is signposted from both the A444 and A447 trunk roads as the Bosworth Battlefield on brown tourist signs. It is situated at the heart of the Battlefield which is south of the town of Market Bosworth. The Station is some distance from the actual village of Shenton - do not park in the village. Once approaching the Battlefield site look out for the Shenton Station signs, do not follow the signs the Battlefield Visitor Centre, unless you wish to walk from there to the station, about 10-15 mins down the hill. The car park is owned and operated by Leicestershire County Council, and charges apply (currently £2.50 all day, payable by cash or via phone payment)

Visiting by boat . . .

Shackerstone Station

Those aboard narrowboats can visit and moor nearby Ashby Canal bridge No. 52. From there you follow the towpath and walk under canal bridge No.52 “Turn Bridge”. Walk up the path to the road - there is a handrail if you need it. Then a left-hand turn over the top of bridge 52 and towards the original station drive. Make your way over the cast iron bridge before turning the corner to arrive in front of the station. This walk is approximately 1/3 mile or 0.5km and should take about 10 minutes at a comfortable walking pace.

Market Bosworth Station

Those aboard narrowboats can visit and moor near bridge 42 or at the new Bosworth marina 5 minute's walk from the station.

To Shenton Station - Those aboard narrowboats can visit and moor near Shenton aqueduct or bridge 35.

Shenton Station

Shenton aqueduct moorings - 5 minute's walk. Go to the aqueduct and down the steps to the road. Turn right and go along the road to the T junction. Turn right and walk along the road, with the railway on the left until you reach the station car park.

Bradfield’s Bridge No.35 - 5 minute's walk from Shenton Station, the southern terminus of the Battlefield Line. We are located at the bottom of Ambion Hill - under and then back over bridge 35, the gates of Shenton Station should be visible from the there. This walk should take no more than 5 minutes, a distance 1/4 mile or 0.4km.
